FEBRUARY 10, 2010 ST. LUCIE REPEATER ASSOCIATION REPEATER BACK AT FULL STRENGHT! THE 146.775 REPEATER (TONE 107.2), WHICH WE USE FOR OUR SUNDAY EVENING WEATHER NETS AND AREA SKYWARN ACTIVATIONS, IS NOW BACK ON THE AIR. WE TOOK A LIGHTINING STRIKE BACK IN JULY AND WE HAD TO REPLACE THE ANTENNA, HARD LINE AND HAVE REPAIRS MADE TO MOST OF THE REPEATER EQUIPMENT. IT APPEARS THAT THE REPEATER IS COVERING THE AREA MUCH BETTER THAN IT HAS IN RECENT YEARS. WE STILL HAVE SOME TWEEKING TO DO AND REINSTALL THE ECHOLINK LINK RADIOS. PLEASE USE THE REPEATER ANYTIME AND KEEP IN MIND THAT THE WEATHER ALERT SYSTEM IS ACTIVE AS WELL AS THE WEATHER STATION AT THE REPEATER SITE. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE, MELBOURNE FL: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/mlb/ Wayne Burkett Sr., KA1VRF, Net Manager: Treasure Coast Weather Network
The Treasure Coast Weather Net meets every Sunday night at 9 P.M. on the 146.775 (tone 107.2) St. Lucie Repeater Association repeater which is located on US1 at the Indian River & St. Lucie County line. Everyone is invited to check in with us at that time to practice giving and receiving current weather reports and join in weather related discussions.
In the event of a weather emergency, The Treasure SKYWARN Net will be activated in order to provide needed local weather information to the National Weather Service in Melbourne or any other appropriate agency. The Treasure Coast Weather Network primarily covers the counties of Indian River, St. Lucie as well as other surrounding counties, as needed, on the east coast of Florida.
If you are a ham living or visiting in the Treasure Coast area, we invite you to join the nets.
